VE Day Celebrations

May 8th marks 75 years since the end of the Second Word War in Europe.

To remember this we are asking people to send us photos of themselves or relatives that served as Doctors, Nurses or Medics during the conflict as well as any memories of the time. With your permission, We will share these on our website and social media channels.

Now we face a NEW challenge, across the world. But it’s an opportunity to recognise and thank those people who are working, battling against COVID-19 to save lives. To thank them for keeping us safe and well. From all walks of life delivering services and keeping supply lines open.

If you hold a garden party or take part in a street of party (social distancing permitting) please let us know.

Download a programme of the day and let us know how you celebrated the occasion.

We’ll Meet Again Lyrics:

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
‘Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away

So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day

We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
‘Til the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds far away
So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know

Leave a big thank you for all those people who are working hard during the battle against COVID-19 saving lives and keeping us all safe and well.
